The word !Xoe denotes 'home-land' or 'home-place' in the language of the !Xam; a nomadic San hunter-gatherer people that once inhabited the Great Karoo. The !Xoe project served as a platform for the presentation of site-specific artwork in the locality pf Nieu-Bethesda and its surrounds. As the title suggets, land or place becomes the common concern of these artworks.
